Dec 24, 1998---It's been a good year for me, new Job, new Computer, new ISDN line..heh..:P..But anyway, I'd like to wish each and every member of the Jailbreak community a Happy and Joyous Holiday season. In reflection, I have made some very good friends while online this past year and feel honored and proud to be involved with such an Awesome and Ass kicking Mod such as Jailbreak. I'd like to take this time to thank each Team Reaction member for their Professionalism and Dedication in the Quake2 community. Rarely do they recieve any Kudos for what they accomplish thru out the year. With Jailbreak's inclusion into the Extremities retail pack I can only imagine the opportunities that await this talented group of guys. WhiteNoiz Anarchy Haakonsen Mnemonic REX... all so much for such a great Mod as Jailbreak. You do all of this and ask for nothing in return, and now its starting to pay off. With the new year quickly approaching and this one drawing to a close I'd like to wish each one of you the Success and Good Fortune that you deserve in the coming year. To all of the Players that I have come to know, Crass, Vansen, Maculo, Va Juji, Wargasm, Hellspawn, Dinky007, Filth, Dragonmage, Sideshow Bob, Obwando, and Most of all SWEATGLAND for doing what I consider the most important and beneficial thing in preserving Jailbreak's autonomy. And to all the others I failed to mention, You guys deserve a heartfelt Thank You for your contributions to the Jailbreak community, from the Maps, to just being an all around great bunch of people. Many thanks and I wish each and everyone a Happy Holidays and a Prosperous and Gibb filled new year...:)
Nov 26, 1998---Update...Just came across a new 3DFX MiniGL driver version 1.46....from all indications it appears lower end systems wont see any performance increase, But, Those with High end systems(PII 300 and above) running High resolutions(SLI) should see a 10-15 Frames Per Second(FPS) increase. It's an official install directly from 3DFX.com...you can get it HERE.
Nov 26, 1998---Anarchy has said that he might include a new list of Server options in 2.5 that would enable the Server admin to disable items other than the Powershield..this could really make setting up a match specific game possible, letting the rules on items be agreed to before hand which would add a whole new level of flexibility to the game ...Lets hope it can be done...:)
Nov 18, 1998---Update-Server admins might want to check out this new site dedicated to the eradication of of the ZBOT. Its a server organization which requires registration and gives you server files usin a reportedly newer method of ZBOT detection which incorporates 3 different methods of detection and provides for logging, kicking, and a host of other features. Check out the United Quake Servers Administration.
Nov 18, 1998---Sweat added a 3rd server which is gonna be a dedicated Half Life server once the game is released. For now it's a Jailbreak server so I added it to my servers page
Nov 15, 1998---Tonight, the much anticipated Public Beta version of Gloom is to be released at 6pm during the IRC release party. So get there early and grab you a seat..join "irc.3dnet.net" channel #gloom....see you there..:)
Nov 12, 1998---WhiteNoiz announced that a public beta of GLOOM should be ready by this weekend. Possible release dates are Friday or sunday....depends totally on his sleep/school/coding schedule..heh..stay tuned..:)

Nov,01, 1998---Team Reaction has taken down the Jailbreak portion of the Forum for a few days to permit them to work with Peelboy in order to write in better security features and draw up a more defined set of Rules and Guidelines....should be back up soon....Until then..feel free to make use of my Chat room..Open to the public....with only "ONE" rule....(1) There are NO rulez..:)

Oct 30, 1998---[UPDATE] I have tried the new PS2rate95/98 and it works great for me...its a program that allows you to adjust the rate at which windows samples the mouse inputs..this is set to a default in win95/98 to 40hz..which can afect your framerate/visual quality if playin without cl_maxfps set to 31 for internet play..any fps that exceeds the 40hz rate at which win95/98 runs will make the mouse input lag Quake2..causing the jerky/blurring movements you see in higher resolutions. And for you WinNT users PS2RatewinNT is available. Also check out Mouserate.zip...a cool utility that tells you what sampling rate win95/98 is currently running at.

Oct 19, 1998---Good news!!...Seems the crew over at Lithium have identified a way to detect the dreaded ZBOT Autoaim Proxy...Its a server side file that can be incorporated into ANY Mod. Anarchy is currently engaged in talks with Lithium to obtain a copy for implementation into 2.5...More later...
Oct 11, 1998---Updated the Gameplay link from the main page, added some very helpful information in speeding up your internet connection, as well as some handy programs to help you do just that very easily. The Configurations page is still under construction as I am trying to offer a wide area of information so that many could benefit rather than just a few.....Hopefully it will all be finished soon. I have plans to do training demos as well, complete with instructional audio, if I can ever figure out this Keygrip2 program...stay tuned...:)
Oct 10, 1998---Apologies for the lack of updates...But I seemed to have let this recent reprisal of Autoaimers(BOTS) get the best of me....I have lost almost all respect for the Quake2 gaming community in general, But, I dont feel that takin it out on the players would do the situation any good...I am on a short vacation of sorts and am regrouping my ideas and plans for this website.....the next release of Jailbreak promises to be a gem, cant give any specifics yet, as I dont know them myself......Lets all ride this Bot assisted attempt at Genocide on the Quake2 community thru to the very end....I realized one thing last night.....I Hate Quitters...:)

Sep 07, 1998---WooHoo!!....I'm proud to report that last night Jailbreak established the standard on this labor day weekend!! A total of 26 servers were online last night with 5 servers full at 16 each and Diamonds server almost filled up with 18 of 24 players!! Far exceeding the other Mods last night and barely nudging out Rocket Arena with people online...Thanks to Vansen for pointing this out.(data compiled usin gamespy 1.52 with all available tabs between the hours of 8pm thru 12midnite EST.)

Aug 26, 1998---UPATE..Results of the PC Gamer Quake2 Mod contest is out, and it looks like Jailbreak's very own Mod God himself, Dave Wallin a.k.a. "WhiteNoiz" has done it again. QPong, Whites newest Mod has taken the top honor in this event...read about it Here. Congratulations White!
Aug 26, 1998---Found an interesting article over at Planetquake that was posted a few days ago regarding Lamah's...Also in my research I came across an interview done by Fragmaster at Planetquake on none other than the Jailbreak Mod God himself WhiteNoiz...also found a review on Jailbreak that was very positive and had high praise for the mod, read it HERE.
Aug 23, 1998---UPDATE..Anarchy has posted word that the upcoming Jailbreak tourney will be held on 2.5 maps unless they're 2 teams willing to play on a GOLD map and then it would be ok...Anarchy has acquired some sponsors and will be offering (No specifics yet) worth of Prizes for the winning teams..so get the word out and the Clans/Teams ready..this one is gonna be hot!!
Aug 23, 1998---OK...definate word from Haakonsen, The GOLD release has been delayed till further notice, so if there are any mappers out there who wanna get your maps in the pack....there still might be a chance, Only high quality maps will be accepted...contact Haakonsen with your maps.
